Running a small business already gives you enough to think about.

Customers need help. Work needs to get done. Bills need to get paid.

Then someone tells you that you also need to post on Facebook, send emails, update your Google Business Profile, create videos, and promote your business.

So you sit down to work on your marketing and ask the same question again:

What am I supposed to post today?

That may be the real problem.

You probably don’t need more marketing ideas.

You need to stop starting your marketing from scratch.

Why Marketing Feels Harder Than It Should

A lot of small-business owners treat every piece of marketing like a brand-new project.

Monday comes around and you wonder what to post.

A few days later, you realize you haven’t sent an email lately.

Your Google Business Profile hasn’t been updated in weeks.

You know you should promote your services, but you’re not sure what to say without sounding too salesy.

So every time you work on marketing, you face a blank page.

That’s exhausting.

The answer isn’t to keep searching for more ideas.

The answer is to create a simple system you can use again and again.

Give Each Day a Job

One way to make marketing easier is to decide ahead of time what kinds of content you normally create.

For example, your week might look something like this:

Monday: Share a helpful tip.

Tuesday: Answer a common customer question.

Wednesday: Show something behind the scenes.

Thursday: Highlight a service, product, or offer.

Friday: Share a customer story, result, or review.

You don’t have to use these exact categories.

The important part is deciding what type of content you are creating before you sit down to create it.

That removes one of the biggest marketing problems: figuring out where to start.

You can make it even simpler by using three basic types of content.

Teach Something

Answer a question.

Give a useful tip.

Explain a common mistake.

Help customers understand something about your product or service.

Build Trust

Show how you do your work.

Explain your process.

Tell a customer story.

Show the people behind the business.

Make an Offer

Highlight a service.

Promote a product.

Share a special offer.

Invite someone to schedule an appointment or take the next step.

Then repeat.

You don’t need to reinvent your marketing strategy every Monday morning.

One Idea Can Become Five Pieces of Marketing

Here’s another way to make marketing much easier:

Stop thinking that one idea equals one post.

Instead, take one useful idea and use it several different ways.

Imagine you own an HVAC company and a customer asks:

โ€œHow often should I have my air conditioner serviced?โ€

That’s not just one Facebook post.

It’s a marketing idea you can use almost everywhere.

Facebook Post

Explain why homeowners shouldn’t wait until their air conditioner stops cooling before having it checked.

Google Business Profile Post

Write a short reminder about getting an AC ready before the hottest part of summer.

Email

Use a subject line like:

When was your last AC tune-up?

Then explain why regular service matters and invite the reader to schedule.

Short Video

Create a quick video explaining one way homeowners can lower the chance of an AC breakdown.

Website FAQ

Add an answer to:

How often should you schedule an AC tune-up?

One simple customer question has now become five pieces of marketing.

You didn’t need five ideas.

You needed one useful idea used five different ways.

Use a System Instead of Waiting for Inspiration

A simple marketing process can look like this:

  1. Decide What You Need

What are you trying to accomplish?

Do you want to:

  • Get attention?
  • Educate customers?
  • Build trust?
  • Promote an offer?
  • Generate leads?
  • Follow up with customers?

Knowing the goal makes the next step easier.

  1. Choose a Starting Point

This could be a customer question, a useful tip, an offer, a service you want to highlight, or a ready-made AI prompt.

The important thing is that you aren’t staring at a blank screen wondering what to type.

  1. Add Your Business Details

Include things such as:

  • Your business
  • Your ideal customer
  • Your location
  • Your service or product
  • Your offer
  • Your tone
  • Your call to action

The more useful details you provide, the more useful your first draft usually becomes.

  1. Let AI Create the First Draft

You don’t have to hand your entire marketing strategy over to ChatGPT.

Use it to eliminate the blank page.

Let it help create the first draft.

That’s where a good prompt makes a big difference.

  1. Personalize It

Read the result.

Change anything that doesn’t sound like you.

Add details only you would know.

Make sure the claims are accurate.

Then make the message sound like your business.

  1. Publish It and Move On

Marketing matters.

But it probably isn’t the only thing you need to do today.

The goal isn’t to spend all afternoon creating the perfect Facebook post.

The goal is to create something useful, publish it, and get back to running your business.

AI Prompts Should Make Marketing Simpler

This is why I created the Almost Automatic Marketing Prompt Library.

The real benefit isn’t having hundreds of prompts sitting in a PDF.

It’s having a place to start when you know you need to market your business but don’t know what to say.

Instead of opening ChatGPT and typing:

โ€œWrite me a Facebook post.โ€

You can choose a prompt built for a specific marketing task, add your business details, and get a much better first draft.

Then:

Pick it. Paste it. Personalize it. Publish it.

That’s the idea behind Almost Automatic Marketing.

It’s not completely automatic marketing.

You still know your customers better than AI does.

You still decide what you want to say.

You still make sure the message sounds like your business.

But you remove a lot of the unnecessary work between โ€œI should market my businessโ€ and โ€œIt’s done.โ€

You Don’t Need More Marketing Information

There is already more marketing advice online than most business owners could ever use.

Another article about 47 ways to grow your social media account probably isn’t going to solve the real problem.

Most small-business owners don’t need more information.

They need a simpler way to take action.

They need help with:

The blank page.

The email they keep putting off.

The Facebook page they haven’t updated.

The Google Business Profile that’s been sitting quiet for three months.

The promotion they know they should run but haven’t written yet.

That’s what a good marketing system should solve.

Stop Starting From Scratch

If marketing keeps falling to the bottom of your list, don’t assume you need more creativity.

Make the process easier.

Start with three ideas:

Stop starting from scratch.

You don’t need to reinvent your marketing every week.

Make one idea do more work.

Turn one question, tip, offer, or customer story into several pieces of marketing.

Use a system instead of relying on inspiration.

Choose what you need. Start with the right prompt. Add your details. Personalize the result. Publish it.

Marketing may never be completely automatic.

But it can be a whole lot easier.

Want an easier place to start?

The Almost Automatic Marketing Prompt Library includes ready-to-use prompts for Social Media, Email Marketing, Google Business Profile, and General Small Business Marketing.

Choose the kind of marketing you need, paste the prompt into ChatGPT, add your business details, and turn the blank page into a useful first draft.

Stop wondering what to say and get your marketing done.
